Felipe Melo and Diadora in South Africa
06.01.2010 - 12.01.2010
Diadora is pleased to announce that it has inked an exclusive agreement with Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo that extends through July 2012. Felipe Melo, a native of Brazil, is widely expected to be a key player for Brazil, this June, in South Africa. Melo made his debut on the Brazilian National Soccer Team in February 2009.
Felipe Melo will be wearing the new Diadora Kobra K-Pro soccer boot. The Kobra K-Pro boasts Diadora's latest performance technologies and is designed to be lightweight, agile and aggressive. The model includes a 100 percent kangaroo leather upper and a light, durable and stable carbon fiber outsole. In addition, the shoe offers proprietary Axeler TI technology in which a Nanoflex wire frame-an innovative material that combines titanium and molybdenum components-is inserted directly into the carbon fiber outsole, thereby improving forefoot propulsion while providing maximum midfoot stability. The boot's superior materials and construction allow elite players to experience increased acceleration, jumping and turning. The Kobra K-Pro will be available in the U.S. in early May, and has a suggested retail price of $180.
"This is an excellent signing," said William Nuttall, President of Golden Viking Sports, LLC. "Melo is a mainstay on the Brazilian side and also provides Diadora with another strong presence in the Italian League."
